Live Poker Tip

With the holidays here, some of you may find extra time available to play some live poker. If so, I wish you luck… and I want to give you a valuable tip.

You know I’m big on warming-up prior to a session to prime your mind for poker success.

Well, for online players, before you go to the local cardroom for a live poker session, play a full ring of online micro-stakes cash game.

This is a perfect warm-up prior to a live session. In the micro stakes, there are tons of recreational players, just like in brick and mortar cardrooms. Tons of limpers, tons of callers, tons of chasers… it’s the perfect way to prime his mind for live poker.

This idea came from a Poker Forge student named Ron. He’s had 6 winning live sessions in a row (+$1,000), averaging +$65/hour.

He uses this warm-up technique before heading to the card room.

He’ll play on one FR micro stakes table to mimic the live situation he’s about enter.

Turn your HUD off and pay attention to the action. Make reads and make plays over a round or two. Then, kiss your wife and head out to the cardroom!
