Let’s take you from losing to winning poker as quickly as possible in 2025!

Listen to the episode as you follow along below:
1. Take Accountability for Your Losing Ways
“When you blame others you help yourself feel better. But, when you blame yourself, you help yourself DO better.” -Alex Hormozi

Your losses are YOUR fault. Now, get to work figuring out what YOU’RE doing wrong and correct them. The tips below will help.
2. Play to Learn, Then Play to Earn
At least 1/3 of your poker time is dedicated to study. Study >>> improvement >>> profitability >>> play more for more profits.
3. Study, Learn, Practice
Find a piece of training, study w/notes, practice 1 thing you learned. As you study, as soon as you learn something important and practicable, take note of it. Open 1-2 tables and now practice that thing you just learned.
4. Ditch Distractions
Poker time is poker time. Trying to do anything else while playing just takes you away from A-game poker!
3 things I do to set myself up for distraction-free success:
- Phone on “do not disturb”
- Close ALL webpages.
- Hide desktop icons. Right-click on your desktop, select “View” >> deselect “Show desktop icons”:

5. Play Only 1 or 2 Tables
Give your brain space to make reads and plays. Avoid auto-pilot, which easily happens when you play too many tables.

6. Do NOT Play Zoom (Fast Fold Poker)
A losing player playing more hands = more losses. You can play Zoom to fit in more hands to win more once you become a winning player.
7. Play Tight With the KISS Cash Game Ranges
TAG play = mathematical advantage = easier winning. Once you get profitable as a TAG player, you can open your range and become a LAG player.
8. Call in the Blinds Less Often
OOP play is more difficult. Plus, calling preflop leads to more post-flop calls.
And, defending the blinds is non-Bread & Butter Poker.

9. ALWAYS Have a Steal Plan Before Calling (pre or post)
You’re going to miss the flop and you’re not going to hit your draw on the next street… so PLAN for how you can steal from Villain before you click CALL.
10. Play More Hands AGGRESSIVELY In Position
You want to play beyond the KISS Cash Game Ranges? Do it IP and as the raiser:
- Don’t Limp > Open-raise!
- Don’t Overlimp > Iso-raise!
- Don’t Call > 3bet!
- Don’t Overcall > Squeeze!
11. Table Select to Find the Fish
More Fish = more fun, profits and easier poker. Look for VPIP>30%, and the higher the better. 3 Fish:

12. Get Value While the Getting’s Good
Don’t slowplay when they can call with worse hands, especially vs Fish!
In the QQ hand above, I triple-barreled big and won a huge pot. If I had slowplayed on any street, I would’ve won less and also given them a free turn or river to crack my QQ.
13. If They’re Weak… Steal
If they would’ve bet for value/protection or solid draw, but they checked… steal!
P1, a LAG 35/25 player, would’ve cbet IP on this flop for value and to protect against any 6, 7, J, Q, spade or Ten hitting the turn for free. I checked, he checked back and didn’t cbet = weak >>> so I made a successful turn probe bluff.

14. Finally Learn THAT Software
There has to be some poker software you’ve been wanting to learn. Maybe it’s Flopzilla Pro, PokerTracker 4 or even GTO+. Spend the next 3o days tackling the software with daily exercises.
I have two courses to turn you into a PokerTracker 4 Master and a Flopzilla Pro Master:

15. Study Uncomfortability
Put THAT software to use and study uncomfortable spots. Find hands in your database related to spots you just hate getting into.
Range your opponents, see how their range interacts with the board and figure out the +EV plays you could’ve made.
16. Learn to Find the Fold Already!
When you just KNOW you’re beat, allow yourself to fold.
17. Get Healthy!
Healthy body > healthy mind > better reads and decisions > MORE wins!
I started the 75 Hard Challenge on January first and so far I’ve lost >10lbs of fat and put on a bit of muscle. Plus, I like how I feel overall.
